Doranova: “We found new markets after trade with Russia declined.”

There is light at the end of the tunnel for the economy both domestically and globally. In practical terms, we can see this in the increased number of orders. We are getting a lot more of them than a year ago, from all over the world. Customers finally have enough funds to implement projects that may have been in the works for a long time.
We decided to look for new export targets once our projects in Russia began to show signs of decline after last spring. We turned every stone and now Doranova is about to start the largest project of its 20-year history. We will construct a biogas plant and waste combustion facility for a model city in Vietnam near Ho Chi Minh. After its completion, the plant will be an excellent reference for us near the rapidly growing economies of Asia. In the long term, the fact that the situation forced us to look for new targets may turn out to be a victory.
Investing in product development and keeping up with the times are the keys to Doranova's success. Environmental technology is developing rapidly, and the field is active on a global scale. Alongside the burgeoning upturn, the field is vitalised by wide-spread interest in renewable energy and environmental values. Last year, Doranova's turnover increased by 100%, and the rate is expected to increase this year. About half the turnover comes from export, and this share is increasing.
The Tampere city region is the best area in Finland for us in terms of growth and development. It is easy to find recruits, the cooperation with local educational institutions is smooth and the excellent traffic links enable easy access to work sites in Finland and abroad.
Doranova is a Vesilahti-based company specialised in environmental technology, which supplies products and services for water and waste management, renewable energy and restoring contaminated land areas. The expert organisation Doranova employs 15 and its turnover in 2014 was €5.4 million.
